Frank Jossi — that’s me — is an independent journalist, editor, consultant and educator. Currently, I am a principal in two small businesses — Jossi + Associates, Inc., which offers marketing consulting and writing, and Featherly-Jossi Consulting, a health care content provider.
In my career I have written thousands of articles and won several writing awards. My articles have appeared in more than 50 publications, including Minnesota Monthly, Wired, The Los Angeles Times, The Star Tribune, Minnesota Technology and others.
For businesses, the state and non-profits I have written lots of marketing collateral, white papers, case studies and other collateral. I have been lucky to have participated in several outstanding programs. In 2006 and 2007 I was a Humphrey Policy Fellow at the University of Minnesota, where I led a team that proposed legislation to study and initiate college level programs in sustainability and green jobs. The legislation passed a year later.
My career includes being the first Fulbright journalism teacher in Pakistan, in 1988, and the third to teach in Albania six years later.
For three years I worked as program director of the World Press Institute at Macalester College.
My background includes a three-year stint as co-chair of a land use committee in the North Star Chapter of the Sierra Club, which awarded my co-volunteer of the year in 2006. Currently, I serve on the Highland District Council and on our school’s PTA board.
I am a University of Wisconsin graduate who lives with his wife, Judy, and two children, Ben and Katherine, in St. Paul. When I’m not staring at a screen or interviewing someone I like to play tennis, listen to jazz, ride my bicycle (nearly every day) and enjoy craft beer brewed in the Midwest (usually).
