A case study provides a story – often told in a “situation, challenge, solution” template – which showcases what clients offer in a real life example.
I like case studies because they offer evidence, not just marketing slogans, of a client’s product in action. These testimonials can be tremendously effective since they can be tailored to audiences based on the size of companies or what industry or service verticals they serve.
The prose is light, tight and readable. Occasionally, if necessary, it can delve into the technology.
I often manage the case study design myself and include sidebars and photography or graphics. The result is a series of PDFs available for download on the web and for sales people to use in presentations. Here’s a portfolio of them.
Case Studies
Client: DaVincian Technologies, Inc.
Project: Look at how the health care IT provider’s Guardian software solution improved efficiency and performance at Baystate Case Study, a major Massachusetts health care facility.
Client: VISI
Project: The telecommunications provider wanted to highlight its work for several clients.
VISI provides connectivity and managed hosting for the Minnesota Orchestra
VISI’s Web hosting and server management supports Rockler through growth spurts
VISI Assists Nationally Known Photography Color House Management Explosive Growth
White House Custom Color
This was a favorite client of mine. As one of the nation’s leading printers for professional photographers, White House likes to showcase clients who use its services. The project focused less on endless praise for White House and more on how this set of photographers could build their businesses – and how other photographers could use the same strategies.
You can see how each case study tells a story within a common template.
